NCGFOA 2026 Summer Conference

Welcome to the North Carolina Government Finance Officers Association (NCGFOA) Summer Conference held at the Wilmington Convention Center.

We are excited to continue our tradition of offering a quality educational component for CPE hours as well as informational training to our membership. Whether you are a newcomer or a veteran, please remember that this is YOUR Association. We encourage you to get involved. 

This conference serves as a fantastic opportunity to gather, exchange ideas, and collaborate with your peers. Please enjoy the NCGFOA Summer Conference here in Wilmington!  Your attendance shows your commitment to making a positive difference to our profession and your communities!

*NCGFOA requires membership of the association in order to register for conference. If you need to update your membership dues, please contact NCLM events.

**Registration costs are subject to increase after the registration cutoff date of June 19th.

The City of Wilmington parking deck that is connected to the Wilmington Convention Center is near the corner of Nutt Street and Estell Lee Place. The Embassy Suites also uses this parking deck. All parking spaces on the second floor of the parking deck are dedicated to the Embassy Suites. Please click here to view more information about parking

The room block for NCGFOA members is at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Wilmington Riverfront. Room rates at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Wilmington Riverfront are $279++ per night for a standard view suite and $299++ per night for a Riverview suite. All reservations at Embassy Suites come with made-to-order breakfast. The sponsor room block is at the Aloft Wilmington. The room rate at the Aloft Wilmington is $249++ per night.

Please note that once these room blocks are full, we cannot guarantee a hotel room at the advertised rate.

The reservation deadline to book a hotel room within the Embassy Suites and Aloft Wilmington conference room block is June 19th. However, please note that the hotel rooms tend to fill up quickly, and we cannot guarantee a room once they are gone.

You must contact the NCLM events team by June 19th to receive a refund. All cancellations made after June 19th are non-refundable.

Yes, guests are welcome to attend the Sunday and Monday night receptions for a registration fee. Guest registration for individuals under 21 is $25 and individuals over 21 is $50. 

There is an additional $50 fee for guests to attend the Tuesday reception and seafood dinner. 

Yes, your guest is welcome to participate in the boat cruise. They will need to be registered as your guest for the conference and then registered for the cruise at $50. Pre-registration is required.

Yes, your guest is welcome to participate in the golf tournament. They will need to be registered as your guest for the conference and then registered for the golf tournament at $75. Pre-registration is required.

Yes. The NCGFOA requires membership of the association to attend conference. If you are a government finance officer, you will need to obtain an active membership. If you are not a government finance officer but would still like to attend conference, you will need to obtain an associate membership. Please contact the NCLM events team for all membership questions. 

Join Us for the Golf Tournament!

Sunday, July 19th at 10:00am

Join us for the golf tournament at the Wilmington Municipal Golf Course to kick off the summer conference! There will be straight tee times starting at 10:00am on Sunday. The tournament will be a Scramble format. Lunch will be provided on the course. Teams and tee times will be assigned by the NCGFOA board and sent out approximately two weeks prior to conference.

Registration for the golf tournament is $75. You will have the opportunity to register for the golf tournament during the overall conference registration. Guests are also able to register for the golf tournament as long as they are registered as a guest for the overall conference ($50). 

Join Us for the Sunset River Cruise!

Sunday, July 19th or Monday, July 20th @ 8:00PM

Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. You can register for either of the boat cruises when registering for the overall conference.

The boat will leave from the dock near the Embassy Suites and the Convention Center. Spouses and guests are welcome to join, but they must be registered.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Sponsor registration deadline is June 19th.

The Association must receive written cancellation of your sponsorship by June 20, 2025 to be eligible for a refund. Sponsorships cancelled after June 20, 2025 are nonrefundable. Please contact Taylor Bee if you need to cancel.

The reservation deadline to book a hotel room within the conference room block is June 20th. However, please note that the hotel rooms tend to go quickly, and we cannot guarantee a room once they are gone.

An attendee list, including name and local government units, will be available one week out from the conference. It will be posted on the NCGFOA guidebook app and included in the Know Before You Go email.

Vendors can set up their booth on Sunday, July 20th 1:00-4:00PM and tear down on Tuesday, July 22nd 3:00-5:00PM.

Pull down Convention Center Drive all the way to the roundabout and there will be volunteers to help you unload. Click here is see a map.

It is $500 per person outside of the allotted complimentary registrations for your sponsorship level. Swapping out representatives per day under one registration is not permitted.

If you would like to announce your door prize winner from the stage on Tuesday afternoon at the conclusion of the general session, please let the registration desk staff know by Tuesday morning. 

All booth numbers will be assigned by the NCGFOA board of directors. The sponsor representatives will receive their booth assignments onsite upon conference check-in.

No. If you would like to sponsor the conference you do not have to be an associate member of NCGFOA. However, if you would simply like to attend the conference without sponsorship and you are not a government finance officer, an associate membership of NCGFOA is required.
